The Nanomaterials Research Center is one of the research centers at the University of Anbar. It was established in 2024 under Ministerial Order No. B.T. 8/13005 on December 15, 2025. Given the integration of nanomaterials into various aspects of human life—spanning industrial, medical, pharmaceutical, and environmental fields—the creation of the Nanomaterials Research Center became an urgent necessity. This was driven by the tremendous advancements in the field and the need to keep pace with scientific research, as well as the country's lack of specialized centers of this kind.

The center comprises two main departments:

1.     Department of Advanced Nanomaterials

2.     Department of Nanotechnology Applications

These departments are supported by advanced systems for the preparation, fabrication, and efficient characterization of nanomaterials. These include Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopes (STEM), X-ray diffraction analyzers, as well as equipment for measuring the optical and electrical properties of nanomaterials.
