The specialized training course titled “Laboratory Safety and Security Requirements,” organized by the Nanomaterials Research Center in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Department, continued on Wednesday morning with its second day of activities.
The sessions of the second day witnessed a transition from theoretical concepts to precise practical aspects, as the lecturers (Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Hamoudi Assaf, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mujahid Mohammed Najm, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mazin Hamed Hassan) delivered detailed explanations on chemical spill control mechanisms, radiation protection methods, and environmentally friendly laboratory waste management.
The course also featured interactive discussions and practical applications within the central laboratories hall, demonstrating significant engagement from participating researchers and staff, which reflects the critical importance of continuously updating safety and security knowledge in research environments.
The course is expected to conclude tomorrow, Thursday, with a closing session presenting key recommendations, followed by evaluation tests for participants to ensure their proficiency in both international and local safety requirements.
